"It is not often that you meet someone like Adura whose passion for maternal health and strengthened health systems is consistently clear and inspiring. What started as an accidental conversation with him in 2018 at an international conference, has since led to intentional collaboration on publications, extensive discussions on research gaps/opportunities and a mutual sharpening of our work in research and academia. An expert in the field, his scholarship is evident in publications, research dissemination and impact, but more importantly, in the younger generation of researchers whose professional ethos is being shaped under his mentorship. Asides his admirable ability to build alliances with stakeholders from multiple disciplines, one thing that stands out about Dr. Banke-Thomas is the excellence and strong sense of social justice that underpins his character and work. He is an invaluable asset to the global health and academic community"
